Karin Carlander x Silkeborg Uldspinderi is a collection of baby alpaca throws designed by Karin Carlander and produced by Silkeborg Uldspinderi.
The collection consists of two designs in three colour combinations: Mustard & Honey, Black & White and Blue Terracotta.
Cumulus 130x200 cm.
The title refers to the Latin word for high, heap, top. The pattern is an abstract reflection of the formation of a pattern which, based on a flat bottom, forms ascending formations in packed groups. We know the concept of cumulus clouds in the sky.

The title refers to the Nordic pine tree, whose needles move in various oblique forms. Forms you can constantly discover when looking at the pine tree.

Working with Silkeborg Uldspinderi has been extremely inspiring at the professional as the personal level. The company is family owned and today it is led by the 3rd generation Jesper C. Olsen. Silkeborg Uldspinderi has concentrated their production on wool and they have passed a huge knowledge about this material down in generations.
Silkeborg Uldspinderi is a company that in the finest way embraces a deep knowledge of materials combined with technical knowledge of weaving and humility towards the task. During the entire design process I have felt safe in the hands of the professionals from Silkeborg Uldspinderi.
In the design for Silkeborg Uldspinderi I have sought to find woven textures that emphasize the structure and quality of the beautiful baby alpaca yarn. I want it to look warm, soft and appealing and the design must cooperate with the yarn, so it is the baby alpaca wool you experience. Silkeborg Uldspinderi has a high professional knowledge, which I want to show in the design. Everyone must be able to see that the throws are woven in the finest material, in the best quality and by the most skilled weavers.
